The Can-Am Cars £17.95
Weight 700g Unique Publications
These 164 soft bound pages contain re-prints of numerous period
articles from the 1960s and 1970s. There are plenty of close up
shots and exploded drawings that could certainly be of use for modelling.
The articles themselves always make fascinating reading, as it is
always good to hear what those directly involved and the independent
observers thought at the time rather than them trying to remember.
If the reproduction quality was better this would be an even more
enjoyable read. As it is, and typical for Unique productions, the
whole thing unfortunately looks as if it has been produced on a
not very sophisticated photocopier. We know how good these collections
can look from the work of other publishers. Come on guys, you've
got the material..

Ferrarissima #14 £32.50
Weight 1.5kg
The latest issue of the official periodical for Ferrari enthusiasts
is, as usual, packed with high quality articles and plenty of variety.
We start with an editorial in the form of an obituary to Gianni
Agneli. There is then a detailed look at the latest road car from
Maranello, the 360 Challenge Stradale and a fascinating piece on
what one of the bright young stars of the design department thinks
that the F1 car of the future might look like. There are two historical
articles by Chris Nixon, the first a profile of Olivier Gendebien
and the other a taster for the recently released 'Peter Coltrin,
Racing in Colour' which we looked at in FSW 6/2003. With the two
great marques now merged there is a fascinating look at the rivalry
in the market place between Ferrari and Maserati in the late 1950s
and early 60s and, as always in Ferrarissima, a review of the racing
season so far. Finally we are shown the latest 1:3rd scale creation
of Terzo Dalia, a Ferrari Enzo engine and gearbox with complete
internals
