KEN006D

Allard K1 Roadster 1946 - Black

£66.95

Much more famous for the outrageous Cadillac engined J2 road racers, Allard also produced a number of luxury road car models.

This elegant 2 seat roadster - with a large 'waterfall' grille and swooping lines - was a fairly big seller for the small family firm, over 150 examples finding discerning owners. The mechanical components were sourced from various Ford models and included V8 engines, while the bodies were formed in aluminium, due to a shortage of steel! Kenna have captured the lines of this machine superbly and the overall standard of finish is excellent. A brave and imaginative choice of subject and one of our Models of the Month.
Gamma Models
Gamma - New 1:43rd resin and metal kits

GMK089

Fiat 124 saloon street 1968 kit

£24.35

GMK090

Fiat 124 estate street 1969 kit

£24.35

GMK095

Fiat 1300 saloon street 1962 kit

£24.35

All three of these kits look accurate and are superbly cast in crisp resin with a wealth of p/e details for grilles, window frames etc. The subjects may appear rather dull but they could add a touch of realism to any Monza paddock diorama of the 1960's or 70's!
Scale Designs
New 1:24th scale transkit for Tamiya Porsche 911 GT2
SCDTK007 Porsche 935 square tail Hawaiian Tropic #70/72 LM '79
£66.00
To accomplish the task of creating either the blue or red Hawaiian Tropic cars from Le Mans in 1979 SD supply you with a fine new resin bodyshell and various other parts including excellent low-profile tyres, nice wheels and some first class photo-etching - plus decals and instructions of course.
You need some parts of course from the donor Tamiya 911 GT2 kit - the floorpan - foot pedals - door panels etc and the whole thing looks like a very worthwhile project which will produce one of the most colourful Porsches ever to run at La Sarthe. Oh - forgot to say - the SD bodyshell appears to capture the line, shape and proportions of the 935 really well.

Stephen Barnett
New 1:43rd scale hand-built limited edition 'supermodel'

SBT001

Maserati 450S fully detailed - #2 Le Mans 1957

£1,630.00

Driven by Behra and Simon this beautiful car only lasted three hours. That was sufficient time however to allow sufficient high detail photographs to be taken for Stephen Barnett to undertake one of his most complex tasks - to model the car complete with engine and trunk (boot!) detail and with close-fitting lift-off panels.
The result is totally stunning. This is indeed a modelling masterpiece. But let's apply the usual criteria - first requirement of course is that checked against race photos it looks like the car - every detail is exact. Stephen has created a superb engine bay with an exactly scaled engine to which he has attached complete ignition wiring, cooling pipework, the battery and all the other ancillaries. And then there's the boot in which Stephen has fitted the fuel and oil tanks together with their piping - with opening filler caps - and a spare wheel which is leather strapped down as it should be. The cockpit too is exactly correct and even has a miniature of Jean Behra's chequer-banded helmet on the seat. Wherever you look in this masterpiece you just wonder at the beauty and the exquisite craftsmanship. As we said - this is a work of automotive modelling art - just beautiful.
Tameo Kits
New 1:43rd scale metal kit
TMK295 Ferrari F2001-Winner Malaysian GP 2001-Schumacher
£29.80
Sadly - for contractual and other reasons - the Ferrari may be the only model of a current F1 car we have the pleasure of building this year. As it looks right now however this car is more than likely to win the World Championship so at least that theme may remain intact!
The model is of course brilliantly engineered and made and will build to look exactly like Schumacher or Barrichello's car - decals for both are included as are all the other decals you need. An interesting feature of this particular car is that in their quest for more speed Ferrari have included more and more very small aerodynamic aids on the surfaces of the body. There are little body top winglets, many humps, bumps and little curved panels all of which we presume help glue the machine to the road. Either side of the airbox for example there are vertical fins like the dorsal fin of a shark - these like all the others we can see on the full-size car are included within this brilliant set of parts. Those aerodynamic tweaks may make this a slightly more complex build than older F1 models and close attention to the fine detail of actual race shots will we think be essential although a good many are included within the copious full colour instructions. Verdict - looks like another masterpiece.
