Equipe Tron
New 1:43rd resin and metal kits and hand built models

TRO179PM

Ford Escort Monte Carlo 1976 Clark Built

£90.35

TRO186P

Ferrari 312B2 South Africa 1972 #5/6/7 Kit

£30.40

TRO187P

Ferrari 340AM Le Mans 1952 #16 Kit

£27.30

The built Escort represents the Zakspeed wheel-arched machine which Roger Clark took to 5th place on the Monte fairly accurately. The wheel arches look as if they may be slightly exaggerated and it is far too clean! The standard of build is excellent with a good even paint finish and carefully applied fine detailing. For those who missed out on Tron's high detail Star kit of the 312B or prefer a quicker build kit, they have released this straight forward resin kit. The main body, separate rear wing/airbox and base plate are cast in bubble-free resin, white metal parts are supplied for wheels, exhausts, suspension uprights and sundry other pieces and the suspension wishbones and wing endplates are in fine p/e. The 340 America should be an even easier build though some may find the kit form wire wheels a fiddle. Cast in a similar high quality resin this will be an enjoyable build.

PAL010M

Porsche 917k Hockenheim 1970 #35 Psycho Built

£42.65

PAL011M

Porsche 917k Kyalami 1970 #2 Psychedelic Built

£42.65

One of the most famous racing car liveries must be the 'psychedelic' purple and green Porsche 917. The Hockenheim car wears this classic war paint while the Kyalami car has a similar pattern, this time red on yellow. Both models are well built and look accurate though the decals could have been better applied in places.

TOK008 Ferrari 250GTO Geneva Show 1962 Built
£40.25
Once again Tokoloshe have come up with a gem of a model at a bargain price. Chassis 3223 GT was shown to the public at Geneva and finalised the shape of the legendary GTO. The grille opening was untrimmed and the rear spoiler hadn't yet appeared but otherwise it is the classic shape. The paint and detailing on the model are superb and it passes the photo test. The only gripes we have are that the vac-formed windows don't fit as well as they could and the three nose top vents are decals, they would look much better if engraved. This is still pretty good value though. A colour shot of the car appeared in What's new page 4 of FSW 5-2001.

Zerex Special Riverside 1962 Penske

£141.00

As always with Marsh all of these are stunning. We have looked long and hard to find errors and can find nothing of any significance. The paint finishes are flawless, the detailing executed with great care and the decal placement spot on.
With the M8F's of Hulme and first American CanAm champ Revson the proportions of the McLaren and Chevrolet decals are slightly off from photos we can find but the photos we have found also vary from race to race so we presume these are correct to the reference material Marsh used! Dickie Attwood was forced to abandon the GT40 he shared with Schlesser at Le Mans when it caught fire after only 4 hours. The M1A and Zerex check out superbly against period photos. The fast but fragile M1A looks fantastic in its black and silver paint and we are making this superb miniature one of our Models of the Month.

MM068

Ford F3L Alan Mann Racing BOAC 500 1968

£40.55

MMR005

AC Ace 1956

£40.55

Two more excellent kits from Marsh, crisply moulded in resin with white metal base plates and p/e detailing parts. The F3L (or P68) was intended as a replacement for the GT40 but with the old car still going strong only a handful were built. Marsh have modelled the black and gold Alan Mann Racing car from Brands Hatch with great panache and this swoopy machine will look stunning when built. Bruce McLaren led the race for a while before a drive shaft failed. The AC Ace was one of the most elegant road cars of the 1950's and of course gave rise to one of the most sought after sports cars of all time when a wealthy Texan put a rather large Ford V8 engine in one. For anyone with a Cobra collection this really ought to be at the beginning of the line up. The Ford is pictured on our cover this time, the Ace appeared on page 5 of FSW 5-2001.
New 1:43rd hand-built limited edition
MM018LE Lola T70 1st Bridgehampton 1966 Gurney - Signed
£176.25
September 1966 and Dan Gurney - driving the blue and white Lola-Ford Bardahl Special - became the first American driver to win a CanAm race. This model appears to be accurate when compared with race photos and is beautifully finished. Only 50 examples of this edition have been made, each with a numbered plaque signed by Dan Gurney.
