To build the yellow, white and black Porsche - shared by Pescarolo,
Johansson and a promising young Brazilian - the yellow and black must
be masked and sprayed with the white dividing stripes supplied as
decal. Both Ferrari sheets are printed by Cartograf and include all
sponsors logos and both drivers names. On the 2000 set there are -
legible! - scrutineering labels and cockpit circuit maps for every
round, though these are for Schumi's car only. |

| For Porsche
to race their 956/962 in the American IMSA series a number of changes
were required. One was changing from a 2.6 litre twin-turbo engine
to an earlier design 2.8 litre single turbo unit with the turbocharger
mounted above the engine. This in turn necessitated a modification
to the rear bodywork. Various intake bulge designs were used and three
of those are offered here. All are hollow cast in precise resin and
will require a minimum of clean-up. There are a number of decal sets
being released for Tamiya's recently re-issued 956 and 962 kits and
these parts will be needed to accurately build one of those versions.
The very fine p/e parts contain 1 set of seat belt furniture, 1 fuel
filler and various wing endplates for both superspeedways and road
courses. |

It's been a while
since we had any new releases from Meri but these were well worth
waiting for. Meri have captured the shapes of these stunning machines
superbly. The only faults we can see are that the driver's names on
the LM decal sheet are slightly blurred (the decals are fine in all
of the other kits so it's probably a rogue sheet ) and the fuel fillers
on the roof of the LC2 should be slightly closer to the centre line,
but these could be filled and re-drilled and we are talking about
fractions of a millimeter! The LC2 kits differ in that the Le Mans
cars had a short nose while the Spa cars had a longer more elegant
design that was used for most of the season.
|

|
| At Le
Mans Wollek, Nannini and Cesrio finished 6th in the #4 car while Pescarolo
and Baldi were just behind in car #5. At Spa the cars performed rather
better with Patrese, Wolleck and Baldi winning in #5 - Patrese, Nannini
and Baldi recording 4th with #4. The LC1s also differ in the shape
of the nose with the Nurburgring winner running a concave front and
the Silverstone car a more conventional rounded nose. On both occasions
car #50 won, driven by Patrese and Alboreto who were joined in Germany
by Fabi. The sister 51 car of Ghinzani retired on both occasions.

| Superbly printed decals
that will allow - we think! - 4 complete models from 12 options to
be made. Each decal is numbered so if you have longer to sit and study
all of the decals and instructions than we have it may be possible
to build more, especially when combined with the decals from the Revell
base kit! The options are 2 cars each from Daytona 1999, 2000 and
2001, Sebring 1999 and 2001 and Texas ALMS 2000. |
