Alfa Model 43 - Alfa Romeo 412 Spider Touring 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Also available AM430294 1st Geneva Zurich based Willy Daetwyler enjoyed quite some success racing his ex-works Alfa Romeo 412 in Switzerland in the late 1940s and early 1950s. By 1950 it had been fitted with a supercharger and won the Bremgarten Grand Prix, a sportscar race on the Saturday before the Swiss Grand Prix, by some three laps from the second placed Jaguar C Type. We’ve not managed to find a photo of the car in this race, though we do have images from the events before and after and these show that the front of the car had been slightly revised from the original Touring body with enlarged vents either side of the radiator opening and the headlights semi-fared into the bodywork. These details do not feature on the model. Otherwise the finish is generally good and it certainly makes for an interesting piece.
About Alfa Model 43
Well finished and presented resin hand built models. Good paint and a modest amount of carefully applied photo-etch detailing. Subjects usually the slightly more unusual Alfa Romeo subjects, plus a few Ferraris, again rarely modelled versions. Made in Italy.
