Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 458 Italia Le Mans 2014 #81 AF Alternative version BBRC145 #71 BBRC147 #60 BBRC148 #61 BBRC144 #51 all AF Corse No fewer than fourteen of the twenty-six GT contenders at Le Mans were Ferraris in 2014, the majority of those in the GTE Am category, and AF Corse were responsible for half of them! The first two cars here (#51 & 71) were the GTE Pro class cars and #51 won the class in the hands of Bruni, Fisichella and Vilander. All of the AF cars seen here have liveries which are variations on a theme and the specifics for each car have been well observed. The overall build quality is as we expect from BBR (very good) but there are one of two niggling details. The additional scuttle-mounted aerials on the Pro class cars are rather thick and we have spotted one small error on the #81 car, with the flags alongside the driver’s names mixing the nationalities of two of the pilots on one side, but you have to be looking extremely closely. The familiar livery on the Krohn car is one that always stands out and the colour used this time is a rather richer ‘apple green’ than in previous years, something hard to gauge in photos. The wheels on all of the cars are extremely finely moulded, the newer design of rim seen on cars #51, 61, 71 and 81 being particularly impressive. There is a mislabelling on the outer boxes of the Am cars (the sticker says Pro) but everything is correct on the smart plaque in the display case and these are individually numbered, from 250 pieces for the class winner and 100 each for the others.
