ABC Brianza - Jaguar XK120 Flajole Forerunner 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Also available ABC242 - built
Errm, wow! ABC have recently been concentrating on interesting coachbuilt bodies on famous named chassis and this is possibly the most spectacular yet. This dramatic coupe was designed by Bill Flajole, whose credits include the Nash Metropolitan, and was built on a modified Jaguar chassis. The car was originally finished in dark green with beige scallops in the sides but all colour photographs of the car including that on the kit instructions show it in restored form, painted a lustrous metallic purple with white highlights. ABC's kit captures the shape of the car very well, especially in side profile. There are some fiddly bits of casting flash to clean up on the interior parts in our sample kit but that's just a little work. The main body is nice and clean and there are plenty of fine details. You will need to mask and paint those scalloped sides but your efforts will be rewarded with a stunning model of a very interesting looking car.
About ABC Brianza
Well cast kits, usually resin but occasionally metal, with a good level of p/e detail. Accuracy sometimes questionable but usually pretty good. Good clear instructions. Built models usually to a very high standard. Larger scale kits for the experienced builder only. Made in Italy.
