ABC Brianza - Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide Shooting Break 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide Shooting Break Hand built available ABC293 Only fifty five examples of the Lagonda Rapide were built between 1961 and 1964 and all of these were saloons. David Brown had toyed with the idea of an estate version and had Touring create drawings, but it was never built. That is until a few years ago when an enthusiast acquired those drawings in a job lot of memorabilia on eBay and had the car built! Itís a design that works (to your reviewerís eye anyway, but then Iím one of those who prefers estate versions of most cars!) and ABC have done a pretty good job of the shape. The panel engraving is crisp but there is quite a lot of flash clean up to do and some fettling to get parts fitting neatly. Most of the ancillaries are in white metal and there is the usual excellent fine photo-etch for window frames, grilles, badges etc.
