Mercedes 680S Sport/4 Sindel. 27 Closed by Carbone
Mercedes 680S Sport/4 Sindelfingen 1927 Open
Also available CAR4379 closed roof
The Sindelfingen coachworks were wholly owned by Mercedes, although initially they did also clothe other makers’ chassis before there was enough to keep them occupied on the company’s own products. This lightweight open tourer was one of a number of very similar machines built and the car modelled (chassis 35918) is a regular on historic events these days, giving us plenty of photos to compare with. Overall it looks very good with a decent shape, excellent level of finish and plenty of very fine etched detailing at the extremities. On the running boards we see a tool box on the left and a fuel can on the right, the latter looking slightly battered as it should do!
