Mercedes 630K Trans Torpedo Saoutchik 1928 by Carbone
Mercedes 630K Transformable Torpedo Saoutchik 1928
Also available CAR4386 brown
Several examples of the Mercedes 630K were bodied by Saoutchik in the ‘La Baule’ style and the car modelled here would appear to be the one which now resides in the Louwman Museum in Holland. The car is described as a Transformable and it would appear that this means the roof is removable but is the work of more than a minute or two with proper pillars and windows in place once raised. It is in closed form that we see the car modelled and those windows fit very well. The two-tone paint finish is very neatly applied, although the darker of the shades looks a little bright when compared with images from the museum.
