Mercedes 630K Trans Torpedo Saoutchik 1928 by Carbone
Alternative version CAR4385 Green with roof up
The car modelled here is one of several similar machines with bodies made by Saoutchik and known as the ‘La Baule’ design. As a ‘transformable’ rather than a conventional convertible the roof is completely removed in open form giving the car very clean lines. Rear seat passengers have their own folding windscreen which is extremely delicately reproduced on the model and this, along with the other fine detailing is carefully fitted. The layout of the two-tone paintwork is very different to that on the closed green car that we saw recently and is far more subdued in style, which we like.
