Carbone - Chromes - Bugatti T44 Dual-Cowl Phaeton model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine No one is quite sure who was responsible for the dual cowl phaeton body on this car but it spent much of its early life in the USA, having been imported through a New York dealer, and it is possible that it was created for the US market. Its later history is known though and, according to the US Bugatti Register, the original straight eight engine was cut in two to create a pair of four cylinder units for oval track midget racers! Philistines. Happily a suitable replacement engine was found when the car was restored many years ago and the model matches very well photos of this graceful old lady as she stands now. An unusual Bugatti and well made.
