Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Also available COM256M & COM257M - builts
These two kits are near identical in terms of components, with the only difference being the decals. Both depict Alpina team cars as they appeared at different races and the only change is to some of the minor sponsorship and the inclusion of spot lamps on the Spa version. The main resin kit parts are cleanly cast with just a little flash to remove and there is a fair level of fine etched detail for window frames, wheel centres and a few other minor details. The Spa car is listed by Competition 43 as the 'last official Jagermeister sponsorship' which has us confused slightly as the Paul Ricard race was later in the season. The Spa car crashed, driver Hans-Peter Joisten losing his life. At Paul Ricard Ickx & Hunt shared a car and finished a fine second among the touring car regulars.
About Competition 43
Accurate resin kits and hand built models with excellent white metal ancillaries, a wealth of fine photo-etch and very good decals. Quality of resin bodies somewhat variable and suffer from bubbles in the resin. Select subjects within this range are produced in metal. Made in Germany
