Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Nissanís GTR is a technical tour de force with clever electronics controlling all aspects of the turbocharged V6, four wheel drive machine so a race version was something that many younger race fans in particular were looking forward to. The car which appeared at the FIA GT1 round at Silverstone in 2009 was rather different though, it looked like a GTR but underneath was a 5.5 litre V8 driving the rear wheels! Early performance in the race was promising, it trading times with another fairly new machine the Ford GT, but the rear suspension failed shortly before half distance. For 2010, three GTRs contested the FIA GT1 championship, the pair of near identical Sumo Power machines leading the way and #22 scoring a first victory at Silverstone. The cars may be fairly conventional underneath but they still look very dramatic, whether in the original white and grey with a chrome roof or in the Sumo colours of white and matt black with the British flag on top. Look beyond the liveries and we can see that there has been plenty of subtle modelling of aerodynamic details too.
Well detailed and very well finished die-cast and resincast models of (mostly) spectacular subjects. Also 1:10 & 1:24 quality plastic kits. Made in Japan.
