Pegaso Z102 Saoutchik Prototype 1952 by Esdo

Pegaso Z102 Cabriolet Saoutchik 1952
Alternative version ESD106M 1953
Saoutchik was one of three coachbuilders used by Pegaso to clothe their Z102 chassis (along with Touring and Serra) and the cars that we have modelled here are, from the rear at least, very similar. Looking through our Pegaso history, the first would appear to be the original Saoutchik prototype cabriolet shown at the Paris show in 1952, while the other is the first example of the production version shown the following year. Both models are well finished in cream, although if our Spanish is up to scratch the first was described as grey originally. The grille and bumper arrangement on the prototype is fairly conventional but things got a little more adventurous for production with large loop over-riders and also additional scooped vents in the bonnet sides. Very interesting subjects.

About Esdo

Beautifully cast, very simple resin kits and hand-built models. Kits include some white metal parts, minimal photo-etch and basic but useful instructions. Some subjects slightly let down by the rather crude cast wheels. Built models generally well built. Made in France.
