Hispano Suiza J12 Drop Head Coupe 1934 by Esval Models
Blue
Alternative version ESVEU43001A Green
The Hispano Suiza J12 was one of the very best motor cars of its era and one of the more exclusive, with only 120 or so chassis being laid down. The two-tone green car modelled here is as it has appeared at concourse events in recent years and matches photos apart from the deliberate omission of the modern license plates. The design is relatively understated by Fernandez & Darin standards and would appear to be the same as the 1934 Paris show car. We only have a black and white image from the period (unsurprisingly) and suspect that the smart mid-blue is the original colour. Both models are very neatly finished and although some of the chrome details are a little heavy, others such as the etched bonnet mascot are extremely fine and overall they are excellent value.
