Faenza 43 - Ferrari 412MI 1:43 model

Ferrari 412MI model by Faenza 43

Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine
This is apparently the same chassis as driven by Gendebien in Belgium but it arrived in America with a four litre engine. The first race in the USA was at Watkins Glen in September 1958, where Phil Hill drove but retired with a broken driveshaft. During 1959 the car was driven by Richie Ginther with a fair amount of success and during this time it appears to have been raced unpainted, with the original red having been stripped off. In 1960 it passed into the ownership of Fred Knoop with Ginther still employed to drive. The car was repainted red. The owner drove the car at the February 1961 Riverside meeting, finishing third on the Saturday and second on the Sunday, while later in the season it was back in the hands of a paid driver, Skip Hudson failing to qualify for the October Riverside race due to mechanical failure. The 1959 versions of the car are finished in a matt silver and decal placement is accurate for both races as far as we can see. Likewise on the red cars, the shape and decoration looks pretty much spot on and the paint this time has a decent gloss to it.

About Faenza 43

Charming hand-built resin models of interesting and often obscure subjects. Paint finishes sometimes a little flat but otherwise very good. Made in Italy.
