Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine The first three subjects here are the Tony Parravano owned car driven by Mancini & Musy on the Targa Florio, then Ken Miles at Palm Springs in December 1955 and Carroll Shelby the following February, a hard tonneu having been fitted over the winter. Following the Le Mans disaster the Nurburgring 1000kms was cancelled in 1955 but there was still a 500km race for smaller capacity machines and Behra won in his works machine. Bracco’s Targa Florio entry is listed in many sources as a 200S rather than a 150, but the shape looks good on the model compared with photos. Finished in white with a pale blue stripe, American socialite Isabelle Haskell’s Buenos Aires entry was shared with Carlos Lostalo and the pair finished a respectable seventh. Another white car, this time with a rather rudimentary roll bar fitted, was raced at Eagle Mountain by its third owner Peter Proctor, finishing fifteenth. The Mille Miglia car is another works entry for Behra, this time he finished twentieth overall. French Maserati importer Jean Thepenier entered his car, smartly finished in French blue, for the inaugural Paris 1000kms at Motlhery but failed to finish. Finally we have two of the three cars entered by private owners at Sebring in 1956, none of which finished.
