Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 250MM Giantís Despair 1958 #21 This unusual looking open-topped racer started life as a Pininfarina coupe, chassis 0276MM, and was rebodied after just a few months by Morelli of Ferrara. For some reason in 1954 the car was renumbered as 0330MM, which makes tracing the history interesting! By 1957 the car was in America with William Infantino, the Morelli body was further modified and sprouted a tiny fin on the head fairing, and raced extensively. Mid-way through the year the Ferrari V12 was apparently replaced with a Chevrolet V8 and it was in this form that the car appeared the following year in several more SCCA races including the wonderfully named Giantís Despair event in Pennsylvania, a race held on a new short road course close to the hillclimb of the same name.
