Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 857S Chevrolet Glen 1963 Koveleski This Ferrari 857S was original sold ‘new’ to John Edgar in 1956, but the American team owner was less than impressed to find a used factory race car chassis beneath the shiny bodywork! During second owner Stan Sugarman’s tender the four-cylinder engine was replaced with a Corvette V8 and a few years later Oscar Koveleski (best known for his later Can-Am exploits) bought the rolling chassis at a bankruptcy auction. With another Corvette motor fitted he raced it extensively and here we see the car as it finished third at Watkins Glen. On the sides we read ‘Car 54 where are you?” a homage to the TV show of the late 60s, and at the front the headlights have an unusual tape pattern. It’s all neatly done to make for an interesting model.
