Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Alfa Romeo 6C 1750SS Targa Florio 1929 #2 Kit available FBM083A Alfa Romeo entered three lightweight specials for the 1929 Targa Florio to take on Bugatti, two of them finishing third and fourth behind the French cars (there were only four finishers!). The cars were basically a stripped chassis with enough bodywork to cover the engine, the driver sat out in the open and a barrel fuel tank behind. The seats were fabricated in aluminium, not the nice comfy things seen on the models and the fuel tank was rather smaller than that modelled. The radiator and bonnet shape are also rather flat. It is hard to define colours from period photos but it would appear that the bonnet was bare aluminium and the radiator cowl, scuttle and chassis were painted, most likely red. A painting by Gordon Crosby, who was at the race, depicts the third placed #20 car of Brilli Peri as red. The models are finished entirely in silver. Overall, not terribly good.
