Books - F1 Modeling #48, The Formula One Turbo Era
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine The early 1980s saw huge increases in power in F1 with the introduction of turbocharging and this issue of the Japanese modellers resource celebrates many of the more famous machines. The first chapter looks at some of the cars which won the constructors’ and drivers’ championships in this period so we have a couple of pages each on the Ferrari 126C2 & 126C2B/C3, Brabham BT52/B, McLaren MP4/2, MP4/2B, MP4/2C & MP4/4 and the Williams FW11 & FW11B. The next chapter deals with a few of the more individual designs that appeared at the time, so we have the Renault RS10, Toleman TG181, Brabham BT50, Ferrari 156/85 and Zakspeed 941 and we finish the turbo era with a look forward to the 2014 cars. All interesting stuff. Moving on to the regular features, Kamimura-san builds SilverLine’s McLaren MP4/26 and we have close up details of the 2011 runners from rounds seven to twelve of the championship. JAPANESE TEXT.
