Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine This model represents a significant piece of Formula 1 history and has been a long time coming from Formula Modesl, but good things come to those who wait. The car was one of only three American entered machines to win a World Championship Grand Prix (along with Eagle and Shadow) and also marked the first race win for John Watson. Formula Models had told us that the kits would be in metal and the hand builts in resin but have reverted to their familiar resin bodies for all but the first handful of kits which are metal and have gone to some of those who preordered the kit. It's only the main body that differs, with the rest of the kit parts in white metal and photo-etch. Etch has been used extensively and includes the interior cockpit tub, side radiators and ducts and the expected wing endplates and suspension components. There's plenty of exposed engine detail too and this offers a little scope for the superdetailers should you wish to add wires etc. The hand built models are very well finished and the decoration looks good when compared with race photos. There is a slight colour bleed through the white decals on the side pods but otherwise all is excellent. If you are very quick, John Watson has signed ten examples for us, most of which were pre-sold.
