Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Also available STUFP2067 - etch set & FARFE0049 - additional decal
This is a very significant, if rather unhappy subject in the history of F1, Senna's last race car. As with the McLaren above, the kit features a high level of detail under removable panels and this time the main mechanical parts are not plated, making detail painting rather more straight forward. Again the livery is incomplete so extra decals will be needed but it will build a fine model.
HIR263 Lotus 56 Turbine Indy 1968 - kit £299.95
We saw Hiro's kits of the F1 Lotus 56B a couple of months back but the 56 was originally designed to contest the Indianapolis 500 and it is in this form that it is best known. The core chassis and suspension parts are carried over from the previous versions but we see different side panels and resin top bodywork. The decals include four options, the race cars of Art Pollard, Graham Hill and Joe Leonard, who came within minutes of winning the race before his engine failed, and the practice car of Mike Spence. The Leonard car is the most visually exciting but whichever you go for you will have a striking and very well detailed model.
