Fujimi - Brabham BT46B Alfa Romeo Fan Car 1:20 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Brabham BT46B 1st Sweden 1978 Lauda Also available FUJ11402 and STUFP20106 etched detailing sets One of the most controversial designs to hit the track in F1, the Brabham BT46B ‘fan car’ only raced once, with Niki Lauda winning in Sweden but John Watson retiring his version with a stuck throttle. The large engine-driven fan on the rear of the car was for cooling, so claimed the team, but it also made maximum use of the ground effect tunnels under the chassis and the car visibly squatted under power. Fujimi have made two kits as the cars weren’t quite identical, the front wheels being different styles, although most of the kit parts are common. The chassis is very well detailed and there is a full flat-12 Alfa Romeo engine to get stuck into. The fans are made up of several parts and the bodywork is in several sections so that your hard work can be seen.
Mass produced plastic kits that build well. Instructions usually in several languages. Some subjects require slightly more advanced modelling techniques but these are well explained in the instructions. Made in Japan.
