Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Lotus Esprit S1 Submarine 1977 Bond James Bond films are famous for their gadgets and the Lotus Esprit from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ has to be the most famous of those, transforming into a submarine after Roger Moore drove it off a jetty. Although some parts such as the main bodyshell and interior are common to Fujimi’s road car kit, the details are pure watercraft with the smooth underbody, fins in the wheel arches and four propellers on the rear. It looks like a fairly simple build and the end result is great fun.
Mass produced plastic kits that build well. Instructions usually in several languages. Some subjects require slightly more advanced modelling techniques but these are well explained in the instructions. Made in Japan.
