History Car 43 - Stanguellini Testa Siata Spider 1:43 model
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Stanguellini Testa Siata Spider Mille Miglia 1940 #7 Kit available HIS079A There is some confusion as to when Vittorio Stanguellini’s cars ceased to be Fiat specials and became a marque in their own right, but this 500cc streamlined roadster was certainly one of the first of the latter. Testa Siata refers to the Siata overhead-valve cylinder head fitted and period reports nicknamed the body shape as ‘the flying turtle’. For their diminutive size and engine capacity, the cars did pretty well finishing twelfth (#18) and fourteenth (#7) overall. That shape is pretty well replicated in this extremely simple model and the kits will be straightforward builds as there are only a few parts. The paint finish on the hand builts has a realistic level of shine but some of the panel engraving has been obscured and the wheel rims are rather rough around the edges. Still interesting subjects and must haves for Mille Miglia collectors.
