Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine In the early 1960s, British saloon car races were dominated by the Jaguars of John Coombs’ Guildford based team and those of Tommy Sopwith’s Equipe Endeavour, with top drivers in both. This well detailed model depicts the Coombs car driven by Graham Hill to victory at Goodwood, where he led home Mike Parkes in an Endeavour car and his own team mate Roy Salvadori. We’ve seen the basic model before as a road car but here there are a number of detail changes. The rear wheels no longer have spats, the interior features bucket seats with simple lap seat belts and the bonnet is held closed by an elasticated cord which hooks over the Jaguar mascot. Release this with the tool provided and the bonnet opens to reveal a pretty well detailed engine bay. Other race details include brake cooling ducts poking out under the front bumper and the front bumper plate applied to that bumper as a decal. It all matches photos well and the wheels look a little finer than on the original road car too. Overall, excellent value and a very attractive model.
About Model Icons
Well finished and reasonably well detailed 1:18 diecast models. Wire wheels could be better but otherwise nicely done.
