Books - Corvette Racing, The Complete Competition History from Sebring to Le Mans (Author: Kimble)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Corvette Racing, The Complete Competition History Weight 2.3kg by David Kimble It seems that whenever anyone claims to have written a complete history of anything motorsport-wise it is almost always immediately obvious that there are some significant omissions. As far as factory Corvettes in competition goes, this is pretty good with a production history of the cars interwoven with their first successes at Sebring in the 1950s through to the present day with the mighty C6.Rs. Itís in the middle that we see the conspicuous absentees as the story jumps from the L88s of the early 1970s to the C4 of the early 1980s. The name Greenwood appears in the text a couple of times but there are no images of those spectacular Greenwood or Mancuso cars that were such a vivid sight on the grids of the late 1970s. What is included is very good and there is a wealth of previously unpublished pictures, itís just that it could have been even better.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
