Books - Derek Bell, My Racing Life (Author: Bell, Henry)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine weight 1.7kg By Derek Bell & Alan Henry Derek Bell is perhaps best known for his sportscar racing exploits, particularly at Le Mans where he has won five times. His racing career started in a shared Lotus 7 in 1964 and soon he followed the familiar route of Formula 3 and Formula 2 which brought him to the attention of Ferrari and a Formula 1 drive in 1968. This wasn’t a successful period and he stepped back to F2 with Tom Wheatcroft’s team and some decent results. Throughout the early 1970s his time was split between sportscars and single seaters but by 1976 he was almost exclusively in a car designed with at least two seats. This diverse career, which continued in competitive form for over 40 years, is depicted in words and carefully selected photos which are taken from Bell’s own personal archive and those of LAT and there is a comprehensive race data list at the end.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
