Books - Maserati, The Citroen Years 1968 to 1975 (Author: Sonnery)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Maserati, The Citroen Years 1968 to 1975 weight 3.6kg by Marc Sonnery As Jay Leno says in his forward to this hefty tome, the seven years that Maserati was under the ownership of Citroen are often dismissed by historians as somehow not quite the proper Maserati, but the Bora, Merak and Khamsin were some of the most advanced cars to wear the trident badge and greatly underrated. In addition to these three very different production models the book also covers the Maserati-engined Citroen SM coupe, the Ligier JS2 which used the same engine and the still-born Quattroporte II, based on an SM platform. The latter was intended to use a new V8 engine and there was also a solitary SM built in Modena with this new engine, a chapter being devoted to this unique car. Much of the extensive text is in the form of interviews with those involved both in Modena and in Paris, giving a unique view of this interesting period in Maserati history.
