Books - The Art of Bugatti, Mullin Automotive Museum (Author: Adatto)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine When we think of Bugatti cars are always the first thought but there were many artists within the Bugatti family, with Ettore’s father Carlo being a renowned furniture maker and his brother Rembrandt a talented sculptor and their work are celebrated in this book. The lion’s share is given over to those famous automobiles though and we see a selection of period images along with modern studio shots of some of the most beautiful examples now found in the Mullin Automotive Museum. Another museum is inextricably linked with the Bugatti name, the Schlumpff Collection in Mulhouse and there is a special feature on this, telling the story of how the collection risked being destroyed by the unpaid workers of the Schlumpff family business and taking a look at some of the reserve collection which is in less than pristine condition. Following this theme there is also an examination of the Type 22 Brescia which was lifted from the bottom of Lake Maggiori in 2009 having lain in its watery grave for over seventy years. A beautifully produced book on similarly beautiful subject matter.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
