Books - Morgan Winner at Le Mans 1962, The Story of TOK258 (Authors: Price)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ronnie Price’s history of TOK 258, the class winning Morgan from 1962 was originally written after the fiftieth anniversary of the race and eventually made it on to the shelves in 2005. In the original book he worked with interviews from the car’s builder and lead driver, Chris Lawrence, to tell the tale of how the project came together and to fruition. Now in the sixtieth year of the class win we have a significantly revised re-issue which has doubled in size over its predecessor. The new text is from Richard Shepherd-Barron who was Lawrencetune’s test driver at the time and the man who actually took the chequered flag. His recollections often vary from Lawrence’s and the two stories are separated in the book and between them we get the full story. Also added are pieces of additional archive material and photos supplied by the Machiel Kalf, archivist for the Dutch Morgan Club and these add plenty more to an already fascinating story.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
