Books - Le Mans 24 Hours 1949 - 1959, The Official History (Author: Spurring)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine weight 2.1kg by Quentin Spurring Quentin Spurring’s post-war Le Mans history seems to be jumping around a little in terms of chronology with the order that the books are released and this third volume takes us back to the start of the story. The year by year race reports are well written and highlight the significant developments of each event. Although not every car is featured, the photographs used are carefully selected and we see many for the first time with plenty of colour in evidence too. The results are very comprehensive, with each race report bracketed by an entry list at the beginning and hour by hour standings, overall, class and Index of Performance results at the end. These books are building into a very good Le Mans history.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
