Books - Motor Racing - The Pursuit Of Victory 1930 to 1962 (Author: Carter)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine weight 1.3kg by Anthony Carter This is the first volume in what has grown during research into a far bigger project than the author anticipated and features excellent photographs, the vast majority of which are previously unpublished, from a number of collections. It started as a collaboration between the author and photographer Steve Wyatt, who wanted to do something with his vast archive of racing photos from the 1960s. It has grown to include images from the collection of Lotus legend Bob Dance who was following races as a teenager in the 1950s, John Rhodes, BRM men Dick Salmon and Pat Carvath and ERA racer Reggie Tongue who took many of the pre-war images included. There are particularly impressive colour images from many races in the 1950s and the whole thing makes for a very useful and interesting reference source for modellers or just racing enthusiasts. The next instalment is apparently due next summer and will carry on through the 60s. We look forward to it.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
