Books - Endurance Racing at Silverstone in the 1970s and 1980s (Author: Parker)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine This is a personal account of a racing enthusiast who attended all bar one of the 6 Hour and 1000km races held at Silverstone between 1976 and 1988 and features many of the author's own photos. To illustrate that missed race in 1977 (the author went to Brands Hatch instead as it was closer to his south coast home) images have been provided by the LAT archives and the BRDC. This was the era of fierce competition in Group 5 and Group C with many exciting looking cars racing and the carefully selected images illustrate the variety of machinery competing and capture the drama of the races very well. This is by no means any sort of definitive history and was never intended as such, but it is a colourful and enjoyable reminder of a great era in sportscar racing,
