Books - Jo Siffert, The Swiss Racing Legend (Author: Heuvink)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine weight 2.3kg by Ed Heuvink This hefty volume charts the fourteen year racing career of one of the greats of motor racing, Jo ‘Seppi' Siffert. Having served and apprenticeship in a coachworks the young Siffert bought his first motorcycle in 1955 but had to put on hold thoughts of racing initially due to military service. A bad leg meant that this was a short lived deployment and with funds raised by his fledgling second hand car business he started racing bikes in 1957. By 1960 he had moved, via sidecars, onto four wheels and his performances again impressed, soon attracting well funded supporters and his career jumped on in leaps and bounds. This beautifully illustrated book tells the story from those first two wheels excursions through to that fateful afternoon at Brands Hatch in 1971 very well and we see plenty of behind the scenes imagery. A fine publication with text in German, English and French to appeal to the broadest enthusiast audience.
