Books - Details, View Under the Skin of Legendary Sports Cars 65-69 (Authors: Heuvink)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Details, Sports Cars 1965 - 1969 Weight 4kg by Wilfried Muller Drawing largely from the archives of Reinhardt Klein’s McKlein library but also with contributions from LAT and other famous archives, this is a fantastic collection of period images of a wide variety of sports racing cars on a number of events. The hard-bound, slip-cased volume has 400 pages and these are divided first chronologically and then by car type. We see Abarths, Alfa Romeos, Ferraris, Fords, Maseratis, Matras and Porsches along with some of the lesser seen machines such as BMW’s lightweight 1968 hillclimb special and the Howmet gas turbine. In all cases there is a description of the car and its record (in both German & English) by way of introduction and then there are detailed captions for the hundreds of carefully selected photographs. The close up detail will be of particular use to modellers, or simply to be enjoyed by those who appreciate mechanical beauty.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
