Books - Zagato Milano 1919 - 2009, The Official Book (Author: Zagato)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine weight 1.4 kg by Andrea Zagato & Paolo di Taranto
Ugo Zagato designed aircraft before he started creating car bodies and his family company has always been at the leading edge of automotive design, leading to some very unusual designs. 2009 sees the 80th anniversary of the company and here Andrea Zagato, grandson of the company founder and now at the helm, takes a look at many of the company's most famous designs. It is not a complete catalogue by any stretch but it does cover a huge number of their designs from Ugo's early aircraft right through to the present day. To put the designs into context we also see what the opposition were doing and there are details of specific events and manufacturers that the cars were designed for. A fascinating book for those with an interest in the development of vehicle design over the past century. The text is in Italian and English and, of course, the whole thing is lavishly illustrated with period photographs, modern studio photos and a great many drawings.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
