Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Moretti, Motociclette, Automobili, Carrozzerie Weight 1.7kg by Alessandro Sannia We know the Moretti name best as a maker of sports and racing cars in the 1950s and 60s, one of many makers refining and tuning Fiatís mechanical parts as a base. The story is far richer and more interesting though and begins with a penniless Giovanni Moretti arriving in Turin as a teenager and working his way up in a motorcycle works before striking out on his own and eventually creating his first self-built machine in the 1920s. He branched out into light cars and during the war, electric delivery trucks and this sound business base allowed for more extravagant machines to be made. Car production finally stopped in 1989, the later models again being Fiat based with a variety of levels of modification and this well written and lavishly illustrated account covers the whole story with text in Italian and English.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
