Books - F5000 Thunder, The Titans of Road Racing 1970 - 1982 (Authors: Bell, Loxley)
Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine F5000 Thunder, The Titans of Road Racing Weight 2.6kg by Ray Bell & Tony Loxley Formula 5000 was popular on several continents, the (usually) Chevrolet-powered machinery offering great bang for buck to competitors and a noisy spectacle for race fans. In Europe and America it fizzled out in the late 70s, but in Australia and New Zealand the Formula remained popular into the 1980s and even embraced ground effect. The very well-illustrated history follows the cars ‘down under’, from the Tasman Cups in the early 70s and beyond. There are reminiscences from and profiles of many of the key players and it all makes for interesting reading.
Over the years we have created a library here at GPM and many collectors regularly ask us which books we use most and which are the most reliable source of information. We offer quality titles selected for their reference material content.
