Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin DBR5 Int. Trophy 1960 #7 Kit available JAD43102 In terms of basic body shape, Jade have done a reasonable job with Aston Martinís second F1 racer but it is on the suspension that things fall down a little as we see a significant discrepancy between the track width front and rear. It is the front that is too narrow. In that front suspension we see fine coil springs and yet the DBR5 ran with torsion bar suspension and so had simple telescopic dampers on the front. Interestingly on some of the photos that accompany the kit the cars are seen pre-race with coil springs in place but on track without them. Helper springs for transport perhaps? The main paint finish on the hand built models is well applied and has a subtle sheen to it, which is in keeping, but the colour is very dark. Trintignant brought his car home tenth in the non-Championship Silverstone race.
