Arzani Volpini Pau 1955 Alborghetti by Jade Miniatures

Kit available JAD43143
Gianpaolo Volpini was well established as a maker of small sports racing cars when he teamed up with Egidio Arzani to build a Grand Prix machine in 1954, based on the chassis of a 1950 Maserati 4CLT with an Arzani twin-cam engine fitted. Mario Alborghetti drove the car first time out at Pau but his race was short and he crashed sustaining fatal injuries. The car did appear again on the entry list at Monza, in the hands of Luigi Piotti, but did not start the race. It’s an interesting looking machine and the shape has been well captured in the cleanly cast body. The kit is typical Jade with etched suspension and resin for the majority of the other parts. The hand built model has a realistic level of finish with a subtle wash to bring out the finer details and the decal placement matches the race photos included with the kit.

About Jade Miniatures

A well established range of well thought out kits and hand built models of competition cars, mostly from the golden era of the 1950s and 60s. The kits are generally pretty simple with well cast resin bodies, small numbers of resin and white metal ancillaries and a modest amount of etch. In the case of open wheeled subjects, the etch usually includes most or all of the suspension. Hand builts generally well finished. Made in France.
