Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine ATS D1 Holland 1978 Mass ATS was a new team at the start of 1978 and at the Dutch Grand Prix in August they appeared with a new ground effect car for Jochen Mass to drive. Unfortunately, it arrived at the circuit incomplete, struggled in the early qualifying sessions and then spat its engine out on the final attempt at making the grid. The design, like many others of the era, was heavily influenced by the Lotus 79 and this is what has been used as a base for this model. The basic shape isnít bad but the yellow paint is rather thin showing castings in places and there should be fine red pinstripes along the tops of the side pods, inside the skirts and at the edge of the top bodywork. The paint finish on this range of models is not to the highest, glossy standards but we are now promised this will be improved upon for the future.
Very limited production hand built models, modified from existing kits such as Tameo to create some previously unmodelled subjects. Made in Czech Republic.
