Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Maserati 450S Times 1960 #41 Kessinger Alternative version JFB43021 #53 & JFB43024 #127 These beautifully finished hand builts depict chassis 4502 wearing three very different liveries. The car was originally in the colours of Tony Parravano (who had fled the taxman before he even saw the car) and it was raced in that form by Billy Krause in Pomona where he finished second. By September the car had been repainted, crashed, repaired and repainted again, now in gold with blue and red stripes. Krause won the sprint race but failed to finish the following dayís feature race. Chuck Kessinger bought the car for the 1960 season and he had it finished in what our 450 reference describes as a dark copper, interpreted as a rich metallic red here and that is certainly how it looks in period colour images. All of the models have a deep gloss to their paint and very neatly applied detailing. Looking at race photos, at Santa Barbara the remnants of Krauseís usual #53 can be seen behind the #127 and this has been missed on the modelís Pebble Beach style finish.
