Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Aston Martin DB3 Le Mans Practice 1952 #26 Aston Martin team boss John Wyer described Le Mans 1952 as a ‘wholesale disaster’ the cars all retiring with mechanical failure. The #26 car modelled here by Jolly Model was the one entered for the race but not the one that took the start. The official entry was badly damaged in practice and substituted, quite illegally, for another car for the race. Somehow only Jaguar noticed the significantly shorter tail of the race car and decided not to protest due to patriotic solidarity! Jolly Model has created the shape of the longer tailed car reasonably well and the model is finished in a very attractive, but incorrect, dark metallic green. It should be a solid colour of similar shade, also the grille should be blue not black.
