Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine 1963 saw the third incarnation for the event also known as the Marathon de la Route rally. Originally (1931-1960) it had been the Liege-Rome-Liege, then in 1961 the mid-point moved to the Bulgarian capital Sofia. Two years later the start point moved a few kilometers from the centre of Liege to Spa Francorchamps for a couple more years until the whole event moved onto the Nurburgring for safety reasons. This kit depicts the second winning Mercedes of Bohringer, who was also victorious the previous year. The car was close to a production model and the kit is smartly painted in bright red with the hard top moulded in place. There’s a fair amount of fine detail painting to do and this is the most difficult part of a very simple build to create an accurate looking model.
Simple to build, very well cast and painted resin kits ideal for the first time builder. Great variety of subjects to choose from. Made in France.
