Lotus 15 Sebring 12hrs 1959 #27 Entwistle/Hanna by MEA Kit 43

Lotus 15 Sebring 1959 #27
Alternative version MEASPL009 Silverstone 1958
Two very similar models of the Lotus 15 are released in hand built only form here. The decal placement on Graham Hill’s Silverstone 1500cc race winner looks to be correct but the number roundels should have yellow edging to them for this race and also the race photos that we have there is no protective tape over the headlights, although this is neatly applied on the model. The only photo that we can find of the car driven by Canadians Entwistle (who was either Harry or William, depending on sources!) and Bob Hanna is a fairly indistinct rear three-quarter shot which just tells us that the tail number and fairing are correct. The paint finishes on both models are good but there is a bit of a gap between top and bottom bodywork on our Sebring car.

About MEA Kit 43

An interesting range initially specialising in 1:43 motorcycles. The nature of the subjects and the size of many of the parts mean that these are best suited to those with good eyesight! Casting quality can be variable and this combined with the size puts them firmly in the 'for the experienced modeller' category. Alongside the bikes are a number of Dakar raid subjects and early Lotus race cars, again offered as kits and hand builts. SPL series are hand built only and concentrate on very unusual race cars. Build quality is variable, basic and nowhere near the class leaders. They are usually presented in recycled Spark cases. Very interesting subject matter though. Made in France.

A dedicated team, we provide the personal touch!
