Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Ferrari 250 GTO Nurburgring 1965 #64 Kit available MGMGTO030 Chassis 4491GT was delivered to David Piper in 1963 and raced as a standard GTO for a season. It then had the roof height lowered and a number of other subtle changes made it what was considered the fastest of all the GTOs. The second owner, Peter Sutcliffe, had a small ‘Gurney bubble’ moulded into the roof to allow a little more headroom and enjoyed a fair degree of success with the car including a class win at the Nurburgring. For this race extra cabin cooling was provided by a length of tube poking out of the passenger window and this is neatly detailed on the model.
