Product Review Taken From Four Small Wheels Magazine Porsche’s 924, with the four cylinder VW/Audi derived engine in the front was looked down on by many Porsche ‘enthusiasts’ but was a decent handling car and by the time the Carrrera GT homologation special appeared, Porsche had created a very serious driver’s car (Derek Bell won’t part with his). Under the skin the turbocharged engine was upgraded, bigger brakes were borrowed from the 944 project and the gearbox had 911 components to take the extra power. Outside we see aggressive flared wheelarches, a bonnet top air intake and Fuchs wheels (also borrowed from the 911) and these details Minichamps have captured very well. Only three colours were available and the red chosen here suits the car perfectly.
One of the market leaders in die-cast models. Good shapes, excellent paint and decoration. 1:43rds are kerbside while 1:18ths usually have plenty of opening parts and detail. Also an increasing number of 1:43 resincast models. Made in China.
